Pocong (Shroud Ghost)

Origin and tradition

The pocong is a shrouded ghost in Indonesian folklore, drawing its familiar shape from Muslim burial cloth. Popular stories describe a bound figure that hops or floats. These ghost stories should be distinguished from the religious practice they borrow as imagery.
