Curupira

Origin and tradition

Tupi-Guaraní and Brazilian folklore describe Curupira as a forest guardian who punishes hunters and those who damage the woods.

A humanlike forest guardian with fiery red hair and both feet turned backward. His face and knees point one way while his toes point the other, the characteristic reversal that confuses anyone following his tracks.
