Origin and tradition

Bigfoot, also called Sasquatch, became a prominent North American cryptid through alleged footprints, photographs, and film. Indigenous accounts of wild or powerful beings differ between nations and should be read in their own contexts. The modern cryptid has not been established as a biological species.
